- Description 1860 Model Light Cavalry Saber – Millard, Dated 1862 A Civil War Model 1860 Light Cavalry Saber bearing a Millard dated 1862. The blade presents a bright gray surface with heavier, even peppering and scattered darker patina. No visible markings remain on the blade flats. The brass guard and pommel exhibit a pleasing dark yellow to brown patina, with the pommel cap stamped with inspector initials “S.M.” and the number “6.” A corresponding “6” is also stamped on the handguard just below the pommel. The grip retains most of its original leather covering, now well-worn from service, while the twisted wire wrap is absent. The leather washer at the base of the blade remains in place. The guard is missing, and the steel scabbard shows a dark gray to brown patina with honest age and use. A small crimping dent is present on the left side between the suspension rings. A solid, untouched Civil War cavalry saber with desirable period wear and matching assembly numbers. Inventory Number: SWO 360
